Today, the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society delivered 1,000 food parcels in blocked area of Kheitan, as part of precautionary measures to fight Coronavirus outbreak, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior.
KRCS's General Manager, Abd al-Rahman al-Aoun, said on the delivery of the food baskets were undertaken as part of the KRCS's relief and humanitarian efforts to help workers and residents in the blocked areas.
Al-Aoun pointed out that the KRCS has developed a plan for humanitarian intervention and relief for the residents of blocked areas, from the very beginning they were forced out of work by precautionary measure to fight Coronavirus.
He added that the food basket was prepared to cover basic foodstuff, necessary nutrition requirements and be sufficient for more than a month.
He confirmed the importance of food baskets delivery to the workers and residents hurt by Coronavirus outbreak to help in providing them with the basic needs.
He stated that the delivered food aid would cover all precautionally blocked areas such as Farwaniya, Mahboula, Hawli and Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area.
Al-Aoun reported that KRCS's food baskets delivery program started at the beginning of the crisis, has had a good effect on the beneficiaries.
He affirmed KRCS's keenness to continue its charitable efforts and endeavors to improve the lives and alleviate the suffering of people living in blocked areas. He said KRCS is trying its best to reach out as many people in need as possible.
