More than five decades ago, specifically in December 1965, eighteen philanthropists in the State of Kuwait came together with a noble goal: to establish and officially register the Kuwait Red Crescent Society.
They held a historic meeting that led to the launch of this humanitarian institution, which soon became one of the most prominent landmarks in the fields of charitable, relief, and humanitarian work at both the regional and international levels.
During this meeting, the founders approved the bylaws for the establishment of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society as a voluntary humanitarian organization dedicated to serving those in need and contributing to the alleviation of suffering. Subsequently, they submitted an official application to the government for the Society’s recognition, and the official decree was issued on January 10, 1966, marking the formal launch of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society and the beginning of its enduring journey in serving humanity without discrimination.
