The Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society distributed prayer rugs, masks, and sterilizers to worshipers in several reopened mosques in Kuwaiti today, as part of precautionary measures to fight the Coronavirus.
The KRCS's Director of the Youth and Volunteers Department Dr. Musaed Al-Anazi, said that this initiative is part of efforts to support the various state agencies in their fight against the pandemic.
Al-Anzi added that this initiative of a group of volunteers tracked other initiatives, including giving bouquets of flowers to Policemen, and masks and gloves in some cooperative institutions and cooperative societies.
He valued the role of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and its cooperation with KRCS to maintain the health of people, valuing the great efforts of the political leadership in fighting Coronavirus outbreak in the interest of the safety of all.
Dr. Fahad Al Afasy, Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, announced the reopening of mosques in some areas for setting up all prayers, including Friday prayers at the Grand Mosque. The latter shall be limited to staff members only, following a closure for almost three months. The Ministry of Health's instructions must be respected and preventive measures taken into account.
