The Kuwaiti Red Crescent distributes food baskets in the Farwaniya area

The Ministry of Health delivered, in cooperation with the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society, 1,000 food baskets and 1,000 milk cartons to workers and residents of the blocked Farwaniyah area.

The Director of Disaster and Emergency Management at the Society, Youssef Al-Maraj, said that KRCS continues efforts of food distribution in response to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Al Maraj added that, by food delivery KRCS seeks to give support to the workers in the Farwaniya area. The delivered food and milk are supposed to be enough for a month.

He stated that the food baskets delivery would continue in the blocked areas, stressing keenness of KRCS to continue its efforts to improve the lives of workers and residents in the precariously blocked areas.

Al Maraj pointed out that KRCS contributed to the Government's efforts to tackle coronavirus by food baskets and daily meals delivery and by raising the community awareness.

He cited that Coronavirus crisis highlighted KRCS's role in supporting the Government's to curb the outbreak of the disease and contributing to mitigating its consequences.

Al-Mi'raj called the companies and institutions, as well as philanthropists of citizens and residents, to give donations to promote KRCS's program in helping people in need, as they had done in previous years.

He made clear that KRCS receives charities and zakat that will bear fruits for the poor and people in need in the country, stressing that Kuwait will not cease helping people in need, locally or abroad.
