In cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, the Kuwait Red Crescent Society delivered 1500 food baskets and 1500 milk cartons to workers and residents in the blocked areas.
Ms. Maha Al Barjes, The Secretary-General declared today that since the beginning of the Coronavirus crisis, KRCS has been striving to provide all kinds of support and assistance to the families, workers and government agencies to confront Coronavirus.
Al-Barjas added that KRCS continues to deliver food baskets to workers in blocked areas and areas of labor intensity, including Subhan, Sabah Al-Salem and elsewhere, noting that the food basket contains all basic supplies sufficient for one person for a month.
She said that the current situation in the country showed the great cooperation between KRCS and donors, and proved its worthiness in the efforts to fight this epidemic.
She pointed out that the KRCS's activities were part of its humanitarian efforts, and to achieve its noble goals, including the fight against Coronavirus.
She added that the KRCS has undertaken, since the start of the precautionary measures, several social projects in order to achieve the Society's strategic goals and way of implementing the community participation plan.
Al Barges stated that KRCS was keen to end the suffering of a number of needy families, in addition to helping a large number of people who lost their jobs due to the Virus outbreak or the resulting lockdown.
She emphasized that KRCS's volunteers will spare no effort in supporting the Government's efforts and support families and workers in need. She valued the efforts of Kuwaiti youth who are always ready to serve their good and generous Country.
