Today, the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society delivered 1500 food baskets and 1500 milk cartons to workers and residents in Jahra Governorate, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Governorate.
Mr. Yousef Al Maraj, Director of Disaster and Emergency Department, said that the KRCS is intensifying its efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to workers and families in need in Kuwait and those affected by the Coronavirus preventive measures in blocked areas.
He added that every basket is enough for one person for a month, and it contains basic materials such as rice, flour, dates, oil, sugar, tea, milk, beans and pasta.
He explained that, by delivery of food baskets, the KRCS aimed at reducing the movement of residents and workers, as part Coronavirus preventive measures.
He described such a mission as a national duty and a contribution in the efforts to overcome this crisis. "KRCS spare d no effort during this period to support other public institutions and other concerned authorities to fight the pandemic", he said.
Al Maraj pointed out that the Kuwaiti human and relief activity is well- known locally, regionally and internationally. He praised the great efforts of volunteers
