Dr. Hila al Sayer, Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent, affirmed the KRCS's support for the public and private sectors' efforts to fight Coronavirus pandemic.
His statement followed a meeting with the Assistant Undersecretary for Social Welfare Sector in the Ministry of Social Affairs Musallam Al-Subae'i who handed him 45500 masks, as a donation from the United Nations Human Settlements Program to the Hospice Care Complex.
He added that KRCS pays great attention to the Hospice Care inmates, especially people of special needs and elderly, and pays high attention to providing them with all needed health requirements.
He stated that the KRCS's initiatives reflect its keenness to enhance its position as an integral part of the Kuwaiti social fabric. He said that KRCS gas supported many official institutions with health supplies such as masks, sterilizers and gloves.
He pointed out that these urgent circumstances require coordinating efforts of public and private institutions and working together to provide the needs, requirements and programs in support of the efforts to confront the pandemic.
Assistant Undersecretary for Social Welfare Sector in the Ministry of Social Affairs, Muslim Al-Subaie, said that the Kuwait Red Crescent is making great efforts in the field of humanitarian and relief work, not only at the local or regional level, but, worldwide.
Al-Subaie expressed his great thanks and appreciation for the generous donation by the Kuwaiti Red Crescent and the United Nations Human Settlements Program to the Hospice Care Complex.
He noted the primary role of KRCS in serving the inmates of the Hospice Care Complex, stressing the importance of cooperation, especially in the current situation to combat the coronavirus outbreak.
He pointed out that social welfare homes take all preventive measures to strengthen the fight against this epidemic and protect inmates and staff.
