Today, the Kuwait Red Crescent Society delivered 500 food baskets and 500 milk cartons to workers in the industrial zone in the Jahra Governorate, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior.
Mr. Yousef Al Maraj, Director of Disaster and Emergency Department said that they would continue with the distribution process as part of the KRCS's campaign to support the Government's efforts to confront the Coronavirus outbreak. He pointed out that KRCS had delivered food baskets in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Khaitan, Al-Farawaniyah, Al-Jahra, Sabah Al-Salem and Hawalli.
Al-Maraj explained that such baskets include most basic needs such as sugar, tea, oil, pasta, nutritional cans, tuna, tomato paste, flour, salt, and so on.
He stated that since the beginning of the Corona crisis, KRCS spared no effort to provide all kinds of support and assistance to families in need, workers and government agencies to enable them to confront Coronavirus. He indicated that, since beginning of the precautionary measures, the Society has undertaken several social projects to achieve its strategic goals and the community participation plan.
He stressed that KRCS intends to continue its efforts to combat the consequences of Coronavirus. He praised the role of volunteers in facing risks, efforts day and night and their outstanding dedication.
