Empower women in the field of tailoring and detail

KUWAIT, Nov 4 (KUNA) - Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) announced on Monday the launch of a women's empowerment project in the field of tailoring and detailing at the association's headquarters.

The Secretary General of the Society Maha Al-Barjas told KUNA after the sewing workshop the importance of the project in giving the trainees life and technical skills in the field of tailoring, detailing, marketing and starting their own projects.

She called on the trainees to benefit from theoretical and practical information in the workshop, noting that each trainee will be provided with a specialized sewing machine to help her set up her own project without the need for others.

Al-Barjas explained that the tailoring and detailing project aims to refine the personality of the participants and promote the spirit of work, thought and responsibility through theoretical and practical programs by a group of specialists to give the graduates the opportunity to learn closely and practice the profession of sewing properly.

She stressed the need to activate the role of women and their activities in charitable work and to allow them to lead the charitable work of civil and development at the local and international level, pointing out that the empowerment of the family promotes the values and principles that ensure sustainable development.

Al-Barjas said that the society continuously provides assistance to needy families inside Kuwait and includes categories (widows, orphans, divorced women, people with special needs, patients, the elderly and low-income people).
