Kuwaiti aid continued to flow to Lebanon for the fourth consecutive day

Kuwaiti aid continued to flow to Lebanon for the fourth consecutive day through the airlift established for that purpose. Today, Saturday, Rafic Hariri International Airport received two additional Kuwaiti Air Force aircrafts carrying tens of tons of medical and food aid.

The Kuwaiti embassy in Beirut received the aid, in the presence of the representative of the Commander of the Lebanese Army and the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society.

Mr. Abdullah Al Shaheen, the Counselor at the Kuwaiti embassy in Beirut, said that two Kuwaiti Air Force aircrafts landed at Beirut airport as part of the relief and humanitarian airlift built under instructions of His Highness the Deputy Emir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and close follow-up of His Highness the Prime Minister and foreign minister.

He added, "This airlift included donations from Kuwait to Lebanon in support and assistance in this delicate circumstance, in addition to medical aid and food shipments according to the lists provided by the Lebanese side".

He indicated that he expected two more planes would arrive tomorrow to join five others that had already arrived in Beirut until today.

A representative of the Lebanese army commander told KUNA, "We thank the State of Kuwait, which has always stood with Lebanon in all circumstances, especially in times of catastrophe".

Dr. Musaed Al-Anzi, head of Lebanon Delegation affirmed that the KRCS team would continue to distribute medical and food aid to hospitals and families hit by the Beirut port explosion. The Kuwaiti embassy took part in receiving the aid, including First Secretary Abdul Aziz Al-Omi, Diplomatic Attaché Sihan Al-Sihan, Colonel Sorour Al-Mutairi and Colonel Saud Al-Sabti from the Military Office.
