The Kuwaiti Red Crescent confirms continued support for the victims of the Beirut Port explosion

The Chairman Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer, affirmed KRCS continued support for the Lebanese people, especially victims of the Beirut Port explosion, in terms of relief and health assistance.

Al Sayer said after meeting with a delegation from the Lebanese embassy headed by Acting Chargé d'Affairs Bassel Oweidat, KRCS would continue to support our brothers in Lebanon, referring to health support for hospitals and the distribution of foodstuffs to the people hit by the explosion.

He added that since the first day of the explosion, KRCS began to follow up the developments of the events and the situation on the ground in Lebanon and their humanitarian repercussions on people's lives. He said that, under the directives of His Highness the Deputy Amir His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, KRCS ran an airlift of food and medical aid to Lebanese people.

He stated that there was a coordination and cooperation through the Kuwaiti embassy in Beirut, the Lebanese Red Cross and the Kuwaiti Red Crescent team to reach out the Lebanese citizens and hospitals hit by the explosion to give hand.

 Oweidat expressed in a statement, deep thanks and gratitude to Kuwait, its people and KRCS for standing by Lebanon under the current circumstances.

He praised KRCS’s role in providing urgent food and medical assistance to people in need, stressing that this was an evidence of the strong relations between the two brotherly peoples.

He said that the Lebanese people appreciated and praised the Kuwaiti assistance, and would never forget Kuwait's stances and its support for Lebanon in all circumstances.
