The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Red Crescent Society, Khaled Al-Mughames, confirmed that humanitarian work represents a deeply rooted value in the conscience of the Kuwaiti people and an authentic part of the State's approach and its institutions in extending a helping hand to those in need around the world.
On the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, which falls on August 19 of each year, Al-Mughames said that this day is an occasion to honor workers and volunteers in the field and shed light on urgent humanitarian issues and mobilize international support to address the repercussions of crises.
He expressed his great appreciation for the efforts of the Society's volunteers and staff who embody the values of giving and solidarity in various fields of humanitarian work.
He added that the assistance provided by Kuwait, whether through its governmental or civil institutions, has contributed to enhancing its international position as a leading country in the fields of relief and humanitarian work.
Al-Mughames pointed out that the escalating crises and natural and humanitarian disasters in various regions of the world impose the importance of doubling efforts and intensifying partnerships with international and United Nations organizations to alleviate the suffering of those affected.
