The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Red Crescent Society, Ambassador Khaled Al-Mughames, confirmed Kuwait's commitment to continuing its support for humanitarian causes and enhancing its partnerships with international organizations in the fields of relief and humanitarian work.
Al-Mughames added, in a press statement following his meeting with the Head of the United Nations Migration Mission in the country, Mazen Aboul Hassan, that Kuwait has given great attention to humanitarian issues over the decades and has always been at the forefront of donor and supporting countries for humanitarian and relief work.
For his part, Aboul Hassan said that the partnership with Kuwait extends more than 30 years, noting the great role that Kuwait plays in supporting United Nations programs and its humanitarian organizations, which has made it one of the most prominent donor countries in the Middle East region.
He explained that this close partnership has contributed to providing support to refugees, displaced persons, and those in need in many countries, particularly in Yemen, Syria, Sudan, the Gaza Strip, and Afghanistan.
He mentioned that during the meeting, a number of humanitarian projects were discussed, as well as the challenges facing workers in the humanitarian field,
confirming that the role of the Kuwait Red Crescent remains prominent and pioneering.
