The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Ambassador Khaled Al-Maghames, affirmed that the Society is keen to support and encourage all volunteer and community initiatives that contribute to serving the community and humanitarian causes. Al-Maghames added in a press statement following his meeting with Wafa Al-Bakr, Vice President of the Dawa Al-Yadah Volunteer Center, at the Society's headquarters, that cooperation with volunteer teams contributes to unifying efforts to serve various segments of society. He pointed out that the Society is keen to build bridges of cooperation with various volunteer entities for the positive impact this has on society, explaining that the Society supports the initiative of the Dawa Al-Yadah Volunteer Center regarding the organization of the annual Children's Festival by providing male and female volunteers. He stressed the importance of the role that volunteer teams play in consolidating the culture of humanitarian work within society, noting that volunteer initiatives represent a fundamental pillar for supporting humanitarian efforts in the country. For her part, Wafa Al-Bakr said that the Dawa Al-Yadah team was established in 2009 on the initiative of a group of retired educators wishing to continue their educational journey, where work began with programs directed at children and then expanded to include mothers and the elderly with the aim of connecting generations and enhancing communication between them. Al-Bakr added that their visit came with the aim of exploring ways for the "Red Crescent" to participate in the annual Children's Festival, given what the "Red Crescent" represents as an added humanitarian value that contributes to strengthening the festival's message and enriching its activities. Al-Bakr praised the pioneering role that the Society plays in supporting volunteer and community initiatives and its major relief role in the arenas of humanitarian work.
