The Kuwait Red Crescent Society organized a training workshop entitled "Strengthening Partnerships with External Entities Regarding Restoring Family Links Services" in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross and the participation of a number of government entities including the Ministries of (Social Affairs), Interior, and Foreign Affairs. The Director General of the Society, Fawaz Al-Mazroui, said: The organization of the workshop comes within the framework of the Society's efforts to develop humanitarian programs and update emergency response mechanisms for family links needs according to the highest international standards. Al-Marzouki added that the workshop aims to prepare the readiness of working staff and volunteers in the field of restoring family links, as the Society pays special attention to this field and has worked to harness its capabilities to reunite families that are exposed to such cases. He explained that such initiatives "proved their effectiveness during the COVID-19 pandemic, as a hotline was established to deal with cases from inside and outside Kuwait, in addition to organizing specialized courses and workshops to qualify cadres and volunteers." He pointed out that the participation of many entities in this workshop will contribute to enhancing joint efforts between these entities to ensure the sustainability of family links restoration programs. For her part, the Regional Coordinator of the Protection Division at the International Committee of the Red Cross, Anneske Vandormaele, confirmed to (KUNA) the Committee's commitment "to support national societies around the world in their efforts to restore family links, pointing to the importance of such humanitarian work in instilling hope in the hearts of relatives of missing persons." Vandormaele praised the cooperation between the Kuwait Red Crescent and the International Committee regarding reconnecting cases of scattered families and the Society's role in restoring hope and maintaining family bonds to face the most difficult circumstances.
