The Red Crescent Society launched an awareness campaign entitled "Your Awareness Now... Your Safety Tomorrow" at The Avenues Mall, as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities, with the aim of enhancing health awareness among women and encouraging them to undergo early periodic examinations. The Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Ambassador Khaled Al-Maghames, confirmed in a press statement yesterday that October represents an important occasion to highlight the dangers of breast cancer and the necessity of raising awareness about prevention and early detection methods. He pointed out that the Society is keen to support health and social initiatives that serve Kuwaiti society and are consistent with its humanitarian message, explaining that early screening is the most important means of detecting the disease in its early stages, where recovery rates among many women are high with early diagnosis. He mentioned that the Society seeks through this campaign to encourage women to follow up regularly and spread the culture of caring for public health and prevention, indicating that the awareness campaign included the presence of the Society's volunteers at its exhibition in The Avenues Mall to raise awareness about the importance of early screening, self-examination methods, and factors that increase the likelihood of infection, in addition to providing health guidelines that contribute to reducing the spread of the disease. Al-Maghames expressed his thanks to the medical staff participating from the Ministry of Health, the Society's volunteers and employees, and The Avenues Mall management for their cooperation in making the campaign a success, affirming that enhancing health awareness requires solidarity from all official and civil entities to reach a healthy and safe society.
