The Kuwait Red Crescent Society announced the dispatch of a humanitarian land convoy heading to Aden Governorate in Yemen, loaded with 40 tons of medical supplies and relief materials to support families affected by the spread of cholera.
The Director of Operations at the Society, Zainab Qambar, said that the convoy comes as an affirmation of Kuwait's commitment to consolidating humanitarian work and the Society's keenness to stand by the people in Yemen amid the difficult living conditions there.
She explained that the convoy includes approximately 40 tons of medical and relief supplies, including medicines and health supplies provided as a donation from Metro Company and the Kuwait-Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries Company.
She indicated that the convoy comes in coordination with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Social Affairs and in cooperation with the Yemeni and Saudi Red Crescent Societies to ensure facilitating the passage of trucks through border crossings, emphasizing the importance of governmental cooperation to facilitate the completion of relief work.
She valued the efforts of charitable entities in Kuwait, which reflect Kuwait's legacy in the field of humanitarian work, confirming that the Red Crescent continues its efforts to launch more programs and assistance in the coming period for the people in Yemen.
