The Political Affairs Counselor at the United States Embassy in Kuwait, Julia Grobelker, said on Tuesday that the humanitarian efforts made by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society to provide relief to disaster victims and assist those affected around the world confirm Kuwait's firm commitment to the values of humanitarian and relief work.
Grobelker made this statement during her meeting with the Chairman of the Board of the Society, Khaled Al-Mughames, to learn about the humanitarian programs implemented by the Society in a number of countries, in addition to discussing a number of related topics.
She valued the efforts made by the Red Crescent at both the Arab and international levels, confirming her appreciation for its humanitarian role in the urgent assistance it provides to affected countries in accordance with the principles applied in this field.
For his part, Al-Mughames confirmed in a similar statement to KUNA that the Society continues its humanitarian programs aimed at alleviating the suffering of refugees and displaced persons in various countries of the world in a manner that contributes to enhancing the values of human solidarity.
Al-Mughames said that the Society is working to enhance the areas of its various relief and humanitarian interventions through official channels, in line with its mission aimed at supporting those affected in times of crises and disasters and keeping pace with the increasing challenges on the international scene.
