The Kuwait Red Crescent Society conducted a mock evacuation drill at its headquarters in cooperation with relevant authorities within the framework of promoting a culture of safety and raising awareness among employees of the importance of adhering to security and safety instructions in the event of accidents and emergencies.
The Society's Director General, Fawaz Al-Mazroui, said that the evacuation drill comes within the Red Crescent's periodic training programs to raise the level of readiness among employees and ensure the efficiency of emergency plans and speed of response in the event of any emergency.
Al-Mazroui added that the exercise was implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Directorate of Civil Defense and the General Traffic Department, and the Ministry of Health, represented by medical emergency teams.
He explained that the evacuation was carried out according to a scenario simulating reality, represented by the outbreak of a hypothetical fire inside the building and the transfer of an injury case, with activation of the alarm bell and evacuation of employees according to approved procedures and under the supervision of safety teams with support from relevant authorities, which reflected a high level of coordination and readiness among all participating parties.
He mentioned that the exercise was preceded by intensive training for employees on evacuation mechanisms and dealing with emergency situations to ensure their safety, noting that these steps come within the Society's commitment to enhancing the readiness of its facilities and raising the efficiency of its cadres in dealing with various emergency circumstances.
He pointed out that implementing such exercises reflects the Society's commitment to providing a safe work environment and consolidating the culture of professional safety and prevention, praising the cooperation of participating entities and their effective role in making the exercise successful and achieving its objectives in raising the level of preparedness and response to emergencies.
