The Egyptian Ambassador to Kuwait, Mohamed Abu Al-Wafa, affirmed today that humanitarian cooperation between Kuwait and Egypt reflects the depth of the brotherly and historic relations between the two countries, and contributes to strengthening crisis response efforts and supporting those affected.

Abu Al-Wafa stated following his meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Khaled Al-Mughamis, that Kuwait plays a pioneering humanitarian role through the support and assistance it provides to affected communities in various parts of the world. He praised the role of the Kuwait Red Crescent in translating Kuwait's humanitarian stances into field initiatives.

He added that cooperation between the Egyptian and Kuwaiti Red Crescents covers a number of humanitarian files, most notably the provision of relief assistance to the Gaza Strip in the health, food, and humanitarian sectors — including Kuwait's establishment of a field hospital in Palestine.

He clarified that the Egyptian Red Crescent possesses extensive technical, logistical, and field capabilities and expertise in crisis management, which can contribute to enhancing integration with its Kuwaiti counterpart and developing joint response mechanisms. He noted that the meeting discussed prospects for future cooperation in Gaza and other areas experiencing humanitarian crises.

For his part, Al-Mughamis affirmed that Kuwaiti-Egyptian relations represent a well-established model of cooperation and complementarity across various fields, particularly in the humanitarian and relief sectors. He pointed to the Society's keenness to strengthen communication with Egyptian humanitarian institutions and exchange expertise.

Al-Mughamis stated that cooperation between the Kuwaiti and Egyptian Red Crescents is an extension of the brotherly and historic relations between the two countries. He explained that shared experiences — particularly in responding to the urgent humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip — have demonstrated the importance of coordination between humanitarian institutions to accelerate the delivery of aid to those in need.

He reaffirmed the Kuwait Red Crescent's commitment to developing cooperation with the Egyptian side and opening new areas of partnership, in a manner that contributes to raising the efficiency of response, enhancing coordination, and exchanging expertise. He praised the role played by the Egyptian Red Crescent in supporting humanitarian and relief operations.
