The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) distributed clothing, food supplies and school materials to 300 needy families registered with the society on Wednesday as part of its ongoing humanitarian and social programs. The initiative aims to support deserving families, ease their financial burdens and promote social solidarity within the community. Dr Saud Al-Dabbous, a member of the society’s Board of Directors and treasurer, told KUNA that the initiative reflected the KRCS’s commitment to providing essential necessities to families in need. He said approximately 2,500 registered families were being targeted under the society’s clothing distribution program. Al-Dabbous explained that the clothing distributed covered men, women and children of all ages. The assistance also included essential food items, such as rice and cooking oil, as well as vouchers to purchase school supplies and educational materials. He added that the society was working to diversify its assistance programs to address the living and educational needs of beneficiary families, helping reduce their financial pressures and provide a suitable environment for their children’s development and education. The society’s Board of Directors reaffirmed its commitment to continuing humanitarian and social initiatives throughout Kuwait year-round, promoting solidarity and compassion while ensuring that assistance reaches eligible families according to their needs. The board also stressed the importance of community partnerships in supporting humanitarian work and expanding the reach of local initiatives. Cooperation with the private sector and individual donors, it said, remained essential to sustaining programs and increasing their social impact. Al-Dabbous expressed appreciation to donors and private-sector partners for their contributions to the society’s humanitarian programs, saying their support reflected a strong sense of social responsibility and strengthened efforts to meet the basic needs of vulnerable families across Kuwait.
